The piPATCH-S-UL is a World's First Space-Friendly Highly Radiation Efficient ZeroCore CubeSat Patch Antenna working in the whole S-Uplink Band (2025-2110 MHz) intended for High Data Rate satellite communication systems. S11 parameter is set to -10dB at least over the whole range, with peak of -20dB response. The RHCP (Right Hand Circular Polarization) is achieved using hybrid 0/90° phasing module implemented on the module level.
What is different? Unlike traditional laminated Rogers PCB-based antennas, the piPATCH-S-UL contains the ZeroCore permitivity layer and EMI shielding from the back side.
Third party antennas typically use dielectric materials with permittivity greater than 3.5 to shrink the size and tweak the radiation pattern. The piPATCH-S-UL antenna is working with permittivity very close to 1, which is almost an ideal case for a vacuum-based dielectrics. Centered on the groundplane also makes it ideal with radiation pattern and polarization. The excellent axial ratio makes it a Number One on the Market.
